Contact sheet and Unedited Images

These images are fairly strong as they are quite bold and simple which makes them eye catching. The images that stand out the most and I think will work well as front cover images are the ones where the person is looking directly at the camera creating eye contact. These images will attract my target audience as once I have edited them they will fit the theme of my magazine and people will understand the genre of my magazine.

Evaluation Question 6 - What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

My photoshop skills have improved a vast amount over the production of my product meaning that I now know how to edit images effectively and create a product that is of the required standard. Whilst editing the photographs I started with turning them into black and white images and then adjusting the exposure, clarity etc. using the camera raw filter, I would then edit the any blemishes the model may have using the spot healing tool or blending it out. This helped me to ensure that my images were the best quality they could possibly be. I used a variety of texts when creating my product, I was shown how to edit the colour font etc. which I then put into practice and also changed the gaps between the lines of text making them bigger or smaller depending on what was required. Including a variety of fonts in different colours keeps the reader’s attention on the page. The quality of my photographs has also improved a lot, this may be due to the fact that I am also studying photography so I can apply certain techniques to my media work. This helped when I was editing the photographs and taking them as I could use the lighting to my advantage. I used the rulers on photoshop to ensure that everything on the page was aligned and ensure that everything was where I wanted it to be.
When uploading posts to my blog I also used a variety of different programmes such as prezi, flipsnack and issuu. Progression of front cover
